Applications for the 4th Cohort of the JASIRI Investor Program are open. Apply before 5 April 2023!
JASIRI, an organization focused on tackling poverty in Rwanda and Kenya, is seeking applicants for its 4th cohort of the Jasiri Talent Investor Program. The one-year, fully funded program is available to high-potential entrepreneurs and will aid participants in idea generation, validation, prototyping, and then through the process of market entry all the way to venture creation. JASIRI aims to attack poverty by investing in, nurturing, and empowering responsible entrepreneurs and leaders who benefit society by helping to accelerate meaningful employment creation while embodying the values and behaviors of ethical leadership. JASIRI is supported by the Allan and Gill Gray Philanthropy.
Through the program, participants will receive the following:
- Transportation to Kigali
- A monthly stipend of $250 including accommodations, meals, and health insurance.
- In the validation stage, each team will receive a $3000 budget for prototyping and testing.
- During the venture creation stage, a $1000 monthly stipend Each team will receive a $7000 cash grant, plus the balance of any unspent validation budget, for venture creation.
- Transportation from Kigali to Nairobi for founders choosing to establish their ventures in Kenya.
As soon as the teams have achieved product-market fit, they may apply for further equity funding.
To qualify for the program, interested participants must meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Age 25-35
- Significant experience in your field/sector
- A demonstrable history of entrepreneurial action
- A desire to learn how to ideate, validate, prototype, and formalize market-creating ventures.
- A desire to meet equally ambitious co-founders.
- Must be a citizen of Rwanda or Kenya.
- Willingness to complete the one-year fully funded Talent Investor program on a full-time basis.
- Willingness to travel to Kigali, Rwanda for 3 months for the residential part of the program where teams are formed, and to continue with the remainder of the one-year full-time program in either Rwanda or Kenya.
