Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) set out the basis on which you can participate in the “SME Response Clinic Business Awards” (the “Competition”). By entering the Competition, you accept these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions, you should not enter the Competition and your nominee will not be eligible to win the prize.

 

1. COMPETITION PERIOD: The start date for entries is 18/03/2021 at 8:00 AM (CAT) (“Start Date”). The closing date for entries is 04/04/2021 at 11:59 PM (CAT) (“Closing Date”). Entries received after the closing date will not be entered into the Competition.

2. TO ENTER: Visit smeresponse.clinic/awards Enter your name, email, phone number. Nominate your favourite small business, add its contact details, indicate its category, add a reason for your nomination, and indicate whether you agree to the Terms and Conditions, as well as whether you want to be contacted by SME Response Clinic for this campaign and future initiatives. Click on “Submit”. You may submit up to three nominations – one for each category.

3. ELIGIBILITY: Nominations may be submitted by people of all ages who meet the competition requirements and are residents in Rwanda. To be eligible to win the prize, the nominated business should have between 1 and 100 employees.

4. No purchase is required to enter.

5. PRIZES: There is one prize available in each category. Categories are listed below (the “Prize”).

5.1. Women-owned business | 1 million Rwandan francs + Business Advisory Services

  • Have full and complete nominations
  • Be founded, owned, or managed by one or more women
  • Be a registered local business in Rwanda 
  • Have a recognised impact on the community

5.2. Start-up or innovative business | 1 million Rwandan francs + Business Advisory Services

  • Have full and complete nominations
  • Be a registered local business in Rwanda
  • Operating for two years or less
  • Have a recognised impact on the community

5.3. Established business | 1 million Rwandan francs + Business Advisory Services

  • Have full and complete nominations
  • Be a registered local business in Rwanda
  • Operating for more than two years
  • Have a recognised impact on the community

The nominator must provide accurate contact and address details of the business for the business to be eligible.

6. It is the responsibility of the nominator to ensure that they provide the correct and full contact and address details for the business to be eligible.

7. SELECTION OF WINNING BUSINESSES: Prize winners will be notified within two weeks following the conclusion of the competition on Sunday, 4 April 2021 at 11:59 pm. Prize winners will be presented to the media and the general public. Final prize winners will be decided based on the entries from the nomination form.

8. The winning businesses will be contacted using the contact details. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not respond to confirm details for the delivery of the Prize within three days, an alternate winner will be selected.

9. PUBLICITY AND PERSONAL DATA: The nominator and winner agree to take part in reasonable publicity relating to the Competition and the Organisers may use the nominator’s and winner’s name(s) and image(s) and their comments relating to the Competition and/or the Prize for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid.

10. The Organisers will use the entrant’s and nominee’s personal details for the purposes of administering the Competition and awarding the Prize.

11. The Organisers reserve the right to withdraw or amend the Competition or these Terms and Conditions if circumstances outside its reasonable control make this unavoidable.

12. Entries must be strictly in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Any entry not in strict accordance with these Terms and Conditions will be deemed to be invalid and the Prize will not be awarded in respect of such entry. The Organisers reserve the right to verify the eligibility of any entrant and to exclude any entries which it believes to be invalid or in breach of these Terms and Conditions.

13. The Organiser’s decision is final in all matters relating to the Competition (including the Prize) and no correspondence will be entered into.

14. Except in respect of death or personal injury resulting from any negligence of the Organisers, to the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the Organisers nor any of its officers, employees, or agents shall be responsible for (whether in tort, contract, or otherwise):

14.1. Any loss, damage, or injury to you and/or any third party or to any property belonging to you or any third party in connection with the Competition and/or the Prize (including the winner’s receipt or use of the same), resulting from any cause whatsoever; or

14.2. Any loss of profit, loss of use, loss of opportunity, or any indirect, economic, or consequential losses whatsoever and howsoever caused.

15. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION: Please note that these Terms and Conditions are governed by Rwandan law. This means that your entry into the Competition and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it will be governed by Rwandan law. You and the Organiser both agree that the courts of Rwanda will have non-exclusive jurisdiction in connection with any such dispute or claim.

16. SPIRIT OF THE COMPETITION: If you attempt to compromise the integrity or proper operation of the Competition by cheating or committing fraud in any way, the Organisers reserve the right to render your entry invalid, seek damages from you and ban you from participating in any of their future competitions.
